Insights From An Expert Vocal Coach Toronto

As an Expert Vocal Coach in Toronto I have the great pleasure to work with many Toronto Singers each week and I often ask them the following question 'Who is your vocal coach?'. Here's how the conversation often goes:

Vocal Coach Toronto: Who is your Vocal Coach?

Toronto Singer: You are.

Vocal Coach Toronto: Actually YOU are.

Toronto Singer: What do you mean?

Vocal Coach Toronto: You are your main Vocal Coach. I am your coach's coach. Get it?

Vocal Coach Toronto: Let me explain. I'm not there every day with you. But you are. There are actually two of you I am speaking with today...YOU the singer and YOU the vocal coach.

Vocal Coach Toronto: I am the idea guy. Each week I teach your INNER vocal coach how to work with you each day to build what your voice needs each day. Each week we make the vocal changes to your voice that you need at that time. And then you go and implement it together with your INNER vocal coach. ( in Toronto )

Vocal Coach Toronto: Every Singer needs a coach that sees the bigger picture. Remember, there is no substitute for a Vocal Coach. As you know very well by experience by now. But you are still your own coach, because you need to work together with your inner vocal coach EACH time you sing to implement the changes we made in the singing lesson.

Vocal Coach Toronto: As your INNER Coach's Vocal Coach, I am the idea guy. Each weekly singing lesson (in Toronto or by phone) I see into your voice with my ears to determine what is needed and to see how well you and your inner coach worked together to implement the changes you needed.

Vocal Coach Toronto: Get it?

Toronto Singer: So you give me the bigger picture each lesson, show MY vocal coach how to make the change with my singing voice and then I am responsible to work with my inner coach to implement and integrate the changes we made in the lesson.

Vocal Coach Toronto: Now you've got it!! Great work. It is your ability and willingness to change that is enabling you to benefit so much from what I teach you week.

Vocal Coach Toronto: And NOW your growth will skyrocket because instead of coming here and expecting me as your main vocal coach to navigate your ship completely for you, now you own the journey of your vocal development. I am there over the next 3-5 years to guide, educate you, expand your perspective and understanding of your the voice works. When you're ready I teach you tools but most importantly my job is to get you to where you are ready to change. Then you make the leap.

Vocal Coach Toronto: This is how great athletes, dancers, and Singers work with their coaches. Whether they are very advanced, intermediate Singers or beginners, THIS is the way to become your best. By activating your INNER vocal coach to work along with your Coach's Coach.

Vocal Coach Toronto: You need to know that no one will ever know your voice as well as you will. Because only YOU are there every day, with your INNER vocal coach. Your INNER Vocal Coach is there to work with you every day when I'm not there.

Vocal Coach Toronto: Now that we've made the change in your Singing voice. And more importantly taught your coach how to work with you, you're ready to go and master what you've learned. Next week, TOGETHER we'll create the next change in your voice that will take your voice to the next level!
